June is another popular month for travelers to visit Cyprus because we have an average of 14 hours sunshine and a 100% chance of a sunny day. We gain a lot of travellers without children as flights to cyprus are cheaper out of summer holidays and the weather in Cyprus has an average of 24c with highs of 30c and lows of 18c we make the most of the island in June. For those who want to explore the ancient archaeological sites or tour the island its a great time of year or if you want to enjoy the beaches before summer break there are always spots to be had.

June on average has rainfall of 2.77mm with approximately 2 days of rain. Days when there is rain, you will often sea beautiful rainbows especially from the beaches.

Sea Temperatures

Beaches are open throughout the month of June and tend not to be so crowded as Peek months. Any of the out of the way coves, like Firemans Beach and Ayia Triada beach are also popular hideouts for escaping the breeze. The average sea temperature in October is 24c.

Many of the beaches in Cyprus have the blue flag awards.

Things to do in Cyprus in June

There is an abundance of tourist attractions open by the time June rolls around and we have full lists throughout our site, such as water sports, beach’s, boat trips, historic sites. However, it isn’t always easy to know what to do when it is raining in Cyprus. We would suggest a day bowling in Paralimni, the cinema in Larnaca, the Thallasa Museum in Ayia Napa, Ocean Aquarium as well as cafes, restaurants and bars open from morning to night. The aquarium is part inside, part outdoors but again a different day out and all of our holiday rental villas and apartments have indoor entertainment.

Packing for the weather in Cyprus in June

Pack your summer wear and forget the rain jackets! Shorts, swimsuits, dresses and flip flops. We would recommend you bringing a hat and loose short sleeve T.shirt (if you get burnt you will be able to put this on in the day to protect you- also a good idea for children). Don’t forget a hat. Linen trousers are an option if you tend to feel cooler.

Renting holidays villas in Cyprus in June

Its always nice to know that when the weather in August in Cyprus is really hot you definitely need the airconditioning, in June  it is sometimes nice to not need that option, many of our villas and apartments are equipped with fly screens and ceiling fans to give you a choice in May. For cooler evenings, there are blankets available and the airconditioning also turns to heating if required. Summer is well in to the season by the time June is here so villas get booked very quickly. I would say it is one of the busiest months of the season.

Locations that are open in Cyprus in June

All of the summer holiday resorts in Cyprus are open in June including Pernera, Kapparis, Protaras and Ayia Napa. You can expect places to open around the middle / end of April and be opening or already open by May. Areas such as Paralimni & Kapparis are all year round resorts.

Getting Married in June

Its hard to know what dress to pick for summer beach weddings and bridesmaid dresses too. I would look for materials that don’t crease easily, this will be better for traveling with your dress. Also materials such as chiffon for bridesmaids are always cute and may be cooler in heat. Try to arrange your wedding early morning or late evening, but remember in the afternoon it can feel hotter than at other parts of the day. You will be warm, so plan for it, bring fans, something to dab your skin with and try to find materials that will allow for some sweating.
