Carnival is one of my favourite times of the year. It is a time when everyone takes to the streets and gets involved, children and adults alike. Over the years Paralimni Carnival has grown in size and just after the Christmas celebrations we now have our streets decorated in bunting and carnival masks creating an uplifting atmosphere. Limasol has the largest carnival in Cyprus lasting a week but the most popular days of carnival tend to be on the weekends. Keep your eyes out for events. Paralimni kicks off the celebrations on Thursday night with Politia radoio in the square of Paralimni from 5-7pm and then welcoming "Miss Cyprus 2017" as the queen of the carnival. She will be crowned "The Aphrodite of Cape Greco".
Lots of events will take place including Fat Fridays celebrations with traditional dancing and of course lots of food and drink, concerts on Friday, children's carnival parties over the weekend and of course the night Carnival on Saturday night and following up with the main event on Sunday.
We will be there and will definitely be posting lots of pictures for you 🙂
Happy Carnival 2018
