100 things to do in Cyprus
There are several boat trips originating from the Ayia Napa harbour but this one is a favourite of ours. An all day trip of about 6 hours, you will be taken along the coast all the way to the border by Famagusta. The boat is spacious with a sunbathing area up top as well as seating so everyone can enjoy the sun and be comfy. Alternatively you can enjoy an air conditioned cabin downstairs that has tables and seating. The staff are super friendly and if will be happy to explain everything at the harbour before you decide to purchase tickets.
Prices vary depending on the time of year but between 20-30 euros makes this 6 hour trip an amazing deal when you consider you get a great lunch as well! They give you an excellent view of the famous sea caves by Cape Greco and the crystal clear waters give you an unobstructed view of the sea bed. Let the winds blow through your hair and the sun shin down upon you while you sail along the gorgeous coastline.
There are two swimming stops on the trip about 45 minutes to an hour in length. If you are not a strong swimmer then there are a few floatation devices available free of charge. If you have sensitive eyes when it comes to salt water we recommend bringing a pair of swimming goggles.
The staff will give a bit of information when passing certain points of interest. Mainly the history of the sea caves and the tragic story of the Ghost City that is Varosha. They spoke English, Greek, German and Russian on our trip.
Lunch is served about half way through and may vary. For us it was delicious chicken and rice with vegetables and pita. There is also a drinks bar in the cabin that is open for the duration of the trip and is reasonably priced.
We couldn’t have better things to say about the whole experience we just loved it and the staff are super friendly and fun! If you’re considering taking a boat trip during your Cyprus vacation then definitely consider making it the Aphrodite 2!
